Turkey Says Will Not Allow NATO To Use Its Territory To Attack Iran

http://conservativepapers.com/wp-content/plugins/rss-poster/cache/6d248_1607.jpg

Turkey, a member of NATO issued a statement today that they will not allow their fellow NATO allies to use Turkish soil or facilities to attack Iran. The statement came from Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, according to RIA Novosti. Davutoglu ended by saying that the borders between Iran and Turkey have been borders of peace and will remain that way.

This is the second time the Islamist regime in Turkey has pulled this sort of thing. You might remember that the Turks refused to allow US forces to go through Turkey en route Iraq, causing America and its allies a great deal of extra logistical trouble and expense. You have to wonder why we still consider them allies at all.

Hug and kiss Erdogan some more, Mr. President!

Turkey's Erdogan To Give Hamas $300M In Aid

Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan has written Ismail Haniyya, Prime Minister of the Hamas-led government in the Gaza Strip, inviting him to visit Turkey, and informing him that he has instructed Turkey's Ministry of Finance to allocate $300 Million in aid for Hamas.

Hamas sources said that Erdogan was responding positively to Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal's call for closer relations between Turkey and its fellow Islamist government in Gaza.

The Turkish aid will go a long way towards allowing the genocidal Hamas to continue its War Against the Jews. And yet, our Secretary if Defense Leon Panetta claims that Turkey is interested in 'regional stability' and that it's Israel's responsibility to mend fences with them!

US law states unequivocally that any person or nation associating with or providing aid to a terrorist group is subject to legal penalties if a US citizen and sanctions if a foreign nation. Both the EU and the US have named Hamas an officially designated terrorist group. Are sanctions on Turkey forthcoming ?

And shouldn't someone warn President Obama that his man crush with Erdogan is contrary to US law?

What They're Not Telling You About The Earthquakes In Turkey

As you may have heard, Southeastern Turkey was rocked yesterday by massive 7.2-magnitude quake that has killed nearly 300 people. Hundreds of buildings are down and there are still many victims buried beneath the rubble.

Israel's president Shimon Peres called Turkey's President Abdullah Gul to offer his condolances and the help of Israel's expert rescue teams, who are only about 90 minutes away from the quake site by air. Gul refused. Instead, Turkey accepted help from Iran and Azerbaijan and refused all international help except from those two countries.

To find out why, we merely need to look at a map. The epicenter and hardest hit area is near Ercis, in the mountainous area inhabited primarily by guess who - the Kurds!

The same people the Erdogan regime has been steadily oppressing for some time.

And that's exactly the area where the Turks want no one seeing anything but the Iranians, who have their own issues with the Kurds! What a coincidence, eh?

Could it be that Turkey doesn't want any international observers getting a look at what's been going on there, or talking to the local people? Are they afraid of what they might find out? Are they worried about the Kurds gathering international attention and sympathy?

And would Turkey be perfectly fine with a few less Kurds around anyway?

Three guesses.

UPDATE: More on this from my pal Greg over at Rhymes With Right .
