US Military Weighing Possible Court Martials For Up To 5 US Soldiers Over Q'uran Burnings

Military investigators looking into the burning of Q'urans in Afghanistan have concluded that five U.S. service members were involved:

U.S. military officials said that although the five service members will be reprimanded, it is unlikely that their names will be released or that their punishment will approach the severity of what some Afghans are demanding, including trial in an Islamic court.

“For the soldiers, it will be serious — they could lose rank. But you’re not going to see the kind of public trial that some here seem to want,” said one U.S. military official.”

A separate Afghan investigation conducted by Afghan lawmakers and Muslim religious officials is expected to conclude in several days. I'm sure you can already guess what the result is going to be.

What the Afghans want, including President Karzai, is for the culprits to be turned over to them to be tried under sharia and hung. Nothing else is going to satisfy them. They're not going accept that the US Code of Military Justice doesn't specify the death penalty for burning books. And those groveling apologies meant absolutely nothing. In fact, given the Muslim mindset, as I pointed out earlier, they almost certainly inflamed things even further:

The burning of the Muslim holy book by U.S. forces at an Afghan prison is unforgivable, a powerful council of Muslim scholars said Friday. It demanded that foreign forces turn over control of prisoners to Afghanistan’s government.

In a statement released through President Hamid Karzai’s office, the Ulema Council said the incident occurred because of “illegal management” of the prison.

“The representatives of the Ulema Council also said that the unforgivable and inhuman action of American forces in Bagram is something that could not be forgiven and an apology is not enough. The criminals of this action should be openly prosecuted and punished as soon as possible,” according to the statement.

Because of the violent reaction from the locals, there is a real likelihood that the five service men involved could receive a full court martial, and several sources in the Pentagon have hinted as much, especially after the groveling apologies by the NATO commander General Allen and President Obama. They'd have to reach a bit, but one of my sources tells me that Article 92,dereliction of duty or Article 134, "all disorders and neglects to the prejudice of good order and discipline in the armed forces, all conduct of a nature to bring discredit upon the armed forces, and crimes and offenses not capital" could be stretched easily to fit Q'uran burning.

To understand how ridiculous this is, let's recap what actually happened here. The accused are going to be charged with confiscating Q'urans supplied and paid for by the US taxpayers away from jihadi prisoners who were using them to transmit secret messages. And then burning the already defaced Q'urans, which is exactly how Muslims dispose of them!

Of course, if the Pentagon investigation bothered to cover the murder of six US troops by their supposed allies, rest assured that none of the murderers are going to be punished at all, especially not by the Afghans.

Meanwhile General Allen has ordered mandatory training for all troops in how to properly handle Q'urans, and most NATO advisers are still in lockdown and have not returned to their duties. The few who have to attend what are called “mission essential” meetings with their Afghan counterparts are escorted by an armed guard and wearing full body armor. A wise precaution, considering that USAF Lieutenant Colonel John Loftis, 44, and Army Major Robert Marchanti II, 48, were murdered not in combat with the Taliban but in a heavily secured room in the Afghan Interior Ministry by an Afghan intelligence officer, an 'ally' trained by the US who had a full security clearance to enter and then left without anyone doing a single thing to stop him.

You have to wonder why General Allen, the JCS and yes, even President Obama fail to realize that continued appeasement of Islam and its culture are nothing less than a suicidal slow rot of our military, our war effort and even our freedoms and security here at home. This has been going on for 11 years now, during two administrations. Is it any wonder we're still fighting this war?

This is the hidden face of the COIN strategy, which 'worked' to allow us a graceful retreat from Iraq because Iraq's Sunnis were revolted themselves by al Qaeda's brutality and were thus amenable to another traditional part of Muslim culture - they were willing to accept baksheesh from us to switch sides. In the end,of course, it did them no good because as soon as we left and turned the country over to the Iran friendly Shi'ites, the Sunnis, far from having a voice in ruling Iraq have become increasingly marginalized and repressed.

COIN was never going to have a hope of working in Afghanistan, because the Afghans are far more used to brutality, far more primitive, far more tribal, far more inured towards hatred of foreigners and non-Muslims than even the Iraqis, and far more dominated by one group, the Pashtuns.

The result is that the 'hearts and minds' strategy has resulted in our troops and appearing weak because they're being forced to fight with one hand tied behind them, not to mention our leaders. And it has had the effect of destroying any respect the Afghans had for us after we took out the Taliban. What our warriors have managed to accomplish in view of the impossible mission they were saddled with is little short of amazing.

General Allen and the JCS are military men who have the excuse for this debacle that they were following the orders of their commander in chief. That commander, President Barack Obama, is going to have to answer to history. And there's not going to be anyone he's going to be able to blame for it either.

Muslim States At UN Slam Gays For 'Abnormal Sexual Behaviour', Boycott Panel On Anti-Gay Violence

A Pakistani spokesman for the Muslim bloc in the UN caused a furor today by announcing to the UN’s top rights body that its 56 member states (essentially, the members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation plus 'Palestine') would ignore a scheduled UN rights panel on anti-gay violence, saying they were “disturbed” at the “attempted focus on certain persons” on the grounds of their “abnormal sexual behaviour,” which “have nothing to do with fundamental human rights.”

The site UN Watch has the statement in full posted on its site.

The letter, written by Pakistan’s envoy Zamir Akram on behalf of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's 56 members plus the Palestinian Authority was sent, believe it or not, on Valentine’s Day to UN Human Rights Council president Laura Dupuy Lasserre and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay.

Who says Muslims don't have a sense of humor?

The OIC declared its " unequivocal opposition" to the upcoming March 7th panel discussion on a new UN report on discriminatory laws and practices and violence against individuals based on their sexual orientation and gender identity...which primarily occur guess where?

The OIC said it will “will not accept its considerations and recommendations.”

The OIC letter also said the panel on anti-gay violence addresses “controversial notions” that have “no legal foundation in any international human rights instrument,” “misinterpreting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights” and would “seriously jeopardize the entire international human rights framework,” and “ shift the focus from the real issues that deserve the attention of the Council.”

By 'shifting the focus', they mean talking about anything but Jews and Israel, of course.

It's fascinating to me - well, perhaps sickening is a better word- the way the Left in the west makes common cause with countries that actively repress women and homosexuals while at the same time making a fetish about the 'Palestinians' and 'anti-Zionism' to demonize the small country of Israel, which does neither. It's also interesting that the so-called humanitarians at the UN don't simply kick them out no matter how many times they violate the UN Charter.

This is anecdotal, but none the less true. There are a number of homosexual Arabs in Tel Aviv and elsewhere who are essentially illegal aliens who fled to Israel from the 'Palestinian Authority' and Gaza to avoid being executed. The Shin Bet and the police have a list and know exactly whom they are but deliberately do not deport them as long as they live out their lives quietly...because they know that to do so would be the equivalent of a death sentence.

All men may be equal, but all cultures aren't.

De Facto Sharia Costs Dearborn Michigan $100K

That's the ruling from a judge in Detroit on a case that determined that the decision by police in neighboring Dearborn to arrest a Christian pastor who wanted to hand out Christian tracts at the city’s Arab fest in 2009 was illegal.

After Judge R. Steven Whalen ruled that the City of Dearborn violated the First Amendment rights of Sudanese Christian Pastor George Saieg, his attorneys requested that Dearborn pay the legals costs incurred in their defending Pastor Saieg, and Judge Whalen awarded $103,401.96 in fees and costs to be awarded to attorney Robert J. Muise.

Since Muise was working on behalf of the Thomas More Law Center at the time, the fees will go to them.

Muise now works with heavyweight attorney David Yerushalmi in the American Freedom Law Center, a new law firm that fights for faith and freedoms through litigation, public policy initiatives and other activities.

“The award of attorney fees in this case,” he said, “is critical in the lawfare against civilization jihad and dhimmitization, or subjugation, of an entire municipality in Michigan. Dearborn has a long record of this kind of illegal, heavy-handed treatment of Christians as an attempt to placate Dearborn’s Shariah-faithful [Muslims]. The court’s ruling today demonstrates that this kind of behavior will come at great cost.”

The judge said in the order, “In this case, the plaintiff received the full relief he sought – an invalidation of the leafleting restriction and a permanent injunction barring its enforcement. … Because this result ‘cannot fairly be labeled as anything short of excellent, [plaintiff] is entitled to a fully compensatory fee.’”

The Saieg case was just one of several that have developed in recent years because of the city of Dearborn’s special protections for Islam at the festival, at the cost of those who would speak of, or hand out information about, other religions.

Muise, in fact, recently won acquittals on charges of “disturbing the peace” brought by Dearborn against a group of Christians after they were arrested by Dearborn police in 2010 for a similar kind of speech activity.

The Detroit News had reported that officials for a pro-Islamic advocacy organization accused the Christians of not playing by the rules of the Arab fest. The report said members of the Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations accused the Christians of passing out missionary literature at the festival in violation of rules that required them either to pass out the materials from a “paid booth” or “outside of the festival area.”

Whalen said Saieg and his Arabic Christian Perspective organization sued Dearborn and its police chief, Ron Hadda, because after distributing Christian information at the event for several years, he was told police would arrest him if he gave information to anyone at the Arab fest.

Heh!

'Dearbornistan', as it's known locally has been notorious for this kind of discriminatory behavior for some time, aided and abetted by Chief Hadda and Dearborn's dhimmi Mayor Jack O'Reilly.

Of course, in a egregious civil rights violation like this, the Pastor would normally be represented by civil rights attorneys from our Department of Justice if we had a DOJ that was actually concerned about civil rights rather than appeasing Islam.

But we don't.

Obama Administration Denies Asylum To Gay Saudi Diplomat

http://www.justislam.co.uk/images/bism%20allah%20diwani.jpg

Ali Ahmad Asseri, the former first secretary of the Saudi consulate in Los Angeles,California was denied political asylum by the Obama Administration last week, reportedly to avoid disrupting US-Saudi relations.

Ths Saudi government yanked his diplomatic passport after his sexual orientation and a friendship with an Israeli woman in Los Angeles became known.

Asseri's argument was that he cannot return to Saudi Arabia because under the country's sharia law same sex relations are a capital offense and he would face execution.

Asseri claimed that the Saudi Consulate in Los Angeles found out he was gay after having him followed when he went out to socialize at gay bars.

Saudi-American journalist and blogger Rasheed Abou-Alsamh who has written for the Washington Times and blogs over at Rasheed's World was the first one to break the story.

One of his sources claims that Asseri's initial interview with Homeland Security went well, but that things took a turn for the worse after the DHS found out that Asseri had been a public prosecutor in Saudi Arabia, overseeing punishments like lashing, judicial amputations and decapitations.

As a side note, homosexuals are not always executed in Saudi Arabia as they are in Iran and other Islamic sharia jurisdictions. Sometimes they are merely lashed severely and imprisoned. But the possibility of execution is a real one, especially because Asseri is a fairly high profile individual as a former member of the Saudi diplomatic corps.

Another problematic factor is that the Consulate discovered that Asseri had become friends with an Israeli Jewish woman in Los Angeles. The Kingdom does not recognize Israel, has the traditional Muslim attitude towards Jews generally, and promotes hatred for Jews in its schools, mosques and state-controlled media.

Asseri is planning to appeal the decision, so things could stretch out for a couple of years before there's an actual decision.

I hope that homosexuals planning to vote for President Obama are paying attention.

Blood And Sand

By now, the whole world knows that Libyan dictator Moamar Khaddaffi was captured wounded, helpless and alive in Sirte by the rebels.

Instead of being brought in for trial, which is what the rebel leadership claimed they were going to do to him, he was essentially lynched. The snuff videos that the rebels mailed to western journalists show him being beaten and executed while begging for his life, with his corpse being sodomized and mutilated as a last sign of triumph by the mob.

As Mahmoud Shammam, the chief spokesman of the Transitional National Council, said with a smirk, "This is the day of real liberation. We were serious about giving him a fair trial. It seems Allah has some other wish."

Khaddaffi's corpse was then left to rot for a couple of days, after which he was buried, but not allowed a Muslim funeral. The Grand Mufti of Libya, Assadiq al-Ghiriani denied him that because, as the Grand Mufti declared, Colonel Gaddafi was an ''infidel'' and for this reason ''prayers should not be spoken over his body''. He was subsequently buried in an unmarked, secret grave, something that has deep symbolic significance is Islam as a sign of disrespect. In many Islamic cultures, unmarked secret graves are reserved for bastards and apostates.

Several Western observers, Michael Totten and Jonathan Foreman among them admitted being moved to pity for a moment as they saw this spectacle, but then reminded themselves what a brutal dictator Khaddaffi was and came to the conclusion that the punishment fit the crime so to speak, and was thus understandable.

With all respect to two writers who are normally extremely astute observers, I think they missed something that's worth pointing out.

Moamar Khaddafi was indeed a monster...but by our standards, not the standards of the world he lived in.

That world was the culture shaped by Islam, and I have never failed to be astounded at how much of it seems to revel in cruelty and domination.

In Khaddaffi's world, just as in Saddam's world or Basher Assad's,torturing and killing political opponents is just how business is done, and terrorism is just another tool of statecraft. And it's no different for Khaddaffi's successors. Ugly stories are already drifting back about the rebel's torture chambers, summary executions and scores being settled. And it's no coincidence that the interim leader of the new Libya announced cheerfully the other day that the country will be governed by sharia law.

The Qu'ran and the sharia law derived from it permeates this world and it allows wife beating and what we in the west would consider gross injustice for those on the wrong end of the pecking order, such as non-Muslims. It mandates horrific punishments and executions designed to inflict maximum physical pain for homosexuals, adulterers, apostates and for those caught committing crimes, even petty theft. It is a culture that produces forced clitorectomies for small girls, honor killings, and yes, torture and painful death for those who end up on the wrong end of the power struggle or who are seen as a threat to the established order.

Moreover, the more Islamic the society is, the more the above seems to apply. The Iranians who overthrew the Shah's relatively secular regime in 1978 made much of the cruelty of the Shah's SAVAK secret police. But the theocratic Islamic Republic that replaced it soon made the Savak look benign, and the few accounts that have leaked out of Tehran's notorious Evin Prison bear witness to the extreme brutality of the regime.

Saudi Arabia's penchant for lashes, decapitations and the amputation of limbs is well known, as is the famous instance of a number of young girls burning to death when their school was on fire and the muwataheen ( religious police) forced them back into the burning building and refused to let them out because they felt they were insufficiently covered . The regime of the Taliban in Afghanistan was characterized by the same kind of brutality.

A quick look around the Muslim world, particularly in the Middle East but actually anywhere there are large numbers of Muslims shows this to be fairly common, even in the West where violence like honor killings are frequently covered up by the media. Ilan Halimi, a young French Jew, was lured to an apartment by an attractive girl he didn't realize was a Muslim. He was then tortured slowly to death by a Muslim gang over a period of weeks, with his screams fully audible to the rest of the Muslim residents of the building, some of whom stopped by to participate. And this happened in Paris, not in Tehran, Ramallah or Damascus.

In an earlier essay,I examined whether this was more a case of an existing tribal culture or whether it developed from Islam per se, and came to the conclusion that at this point, the two are so welded together that it ultimately doesn't matter.

The reaction in the West to what happened to Moamar Khaddaffi is important, because it illustrates a very dangerous mindset. We have become so permeated by the poisonous nonsense that all cultures are equal, that we have to be non-judgmental of the 'other' no matter what, that we easily fall into the bigotry of low expectations. That explains why the Western Press prints reams of critique about the supposed injustices done by a relatively benign and humane Israel but ignores the celebration of brutal murder as a holy act and and the holding up of murderers as heroes and role models just over Israel's borders.

It's why the exchange of a large group of convicted killers for one Israeli soldier was commonly referred to as a 'prisoner exchange' instead of what it actually was, a ransom drop to release a kidnap victim who received no trial but was held incognito in brutal captivity for five and a half years.

It's why a mob demonstrating in Tahrir Square in Egypt for freedom and equality could horrendously gang rape a TV reporter while screaming "Jew, Jew" without anyone in the dinosaur media calling for them to be punished or even pointing out the hypocrisy. Even Lara Logan's own network spirited her quickly out of the country without even making a police report or getting her medical attention until she was safely out of Egypt.

If Muslims break into a UN aid office in Afghanistan and decapitate every non-Muslim there because a Florida preacher burned a Qu'ran, we're understanding and don't even insist that anyone be brought to justice. But if American Christians were to kill Muslims in our own country because Muslims burned a church in Pakistan or confiscated and burned bibles in Saudi Arabia, the headlines and tearful apologies would be rampant, and anyone who participated would receive a healthy prison term if not a death sentence.

It's absurdly easy to fall into this trap with someone like Khaddaffi, who admittedly is no great loss to the world. But this kind of cultural cringe is the proverbial slippery slope and shows how poisoned our reactions and expectations are not only of Muslim nations but for Muslims who live in the West among us. If the lynching of Khaddafi had happened in America or if the Israelis had simply dragged Yasser Arafat out of the Muqata one day and strung him up, the media outcry would have been deafening. But we accept such behavior from Muslims with hardly a murmur. In our minds, they're 'supposed to act like that'. So we allow more and more trespasses on our own mores and standards and feel guilty about to defending ourselves against the most egregious assaults on our culture, and even our persons.

Even an Adolf Eichmann in Israel or Timothy McVeigh or a Ted Bundy in America rated a trial, and a judicially mandated execution at the end of it.

Believe it or not, so did Moamar Khaddaffi. And we should be saying so loudly and clearly, instead of shrugging our shoulders at yet another act of barbarity emanating from the Muslim world.

Obama DOJ Forces School District To Pay Muslim Teacher $75K Over Special Leave For Mecca Trip During School Year

You may remember a story I reported on last December about the Obama Justice Department filing suit against the Berkeley School District in Illinois on behalf of Safoora Kahn, a Muslim teacher because the district denied her three weeks special leave during the school term in order to attend the Haj in Mecca.

The Haj, for those of you who don't know is a religious pilgrimage to the Saudi city of Mecca. It's a religious duty all Muslims are supposed to perform once in their lifetime if they are able, where they prostrate themselves before the Ka'aba and a meteorite known as the Sacred Black Stone and perform rites virtually unchanged since it was a pagan idol dedicated to Lah, the Arabian Moon God.

And it lasts all of five days, not the three weeks Khan requested.

Nevertheless, after her request was denied twice, Khan resigned, went to Mecca and filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) which referred it to the Department of Justice. They sued on her behalf, and believe it or not, they won.

Safoorah Khan’s religious discrimination lawsuit against the Berkeley School District ended with a settlement that forced the district to pay $75,000 in lost back pay, compensatory damages and attorneys’ fees, not to mention the costs the district incurred in defending itself.

The settlement also requires the district to develop a policy for accommodating religions - and let's be honest, we're only talking about Islam here - including mandatory training on religious accommodations to all board of education members and school supervisors.

“I’m glad that we settled and I hope this does set a precedent,” Khan said. “I hope they realize that hajj means a lot to Muslims and there will be more and more people taking the trip. I hope this helps people and their employers to accommodate Muslims and their requests.”

That statement is a clue as to how this went down. I can almost guarantee that Ms. Kahn talked to her friends at CAIR first before quitting her job and filing the EEOC complaint, which cost her nothing and cost the school district she worked for $75,000, the cost of defending itself against her lawsuit and the cost of hiring a replacement when she resigned in the middle of a school year.

I guarantee you, the Obama DOJ would not have taken a similar case for a Catholic teacher seeking three weeks off for Holy Week, or a Jewish teacher seeking three weeks off for the ten day period between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

The first commandment of the Obama Administration - Thou shalt appease Islam at all times.
