Wild Romance Episode 9

With that confession hanging in the air things are awkward. What might be a breakthrough for the couple is interrupted by Moo Yul’s first love. When she enters she can sense the tense air as the two stare at each other. Eun Jae can’t take it and breaks down with a laugh. She calls Dong Ah and pretends that the confession was a bet. It’s the cowards way out of the situation, but I’ll forgive her. The entrance of a third-party would make the rejection all the more cruel, but you can’t fake that earnest of a confession.Jong Hee gives Moo Yul a Christmas present, a little angel with red flowers. Red flowers? Really? Wouldn’t it be more fun with red blood spatters? Either way, Moo Yul is smitten. With her smile and Moo Yul’s eagerness she could have given him a used tissue and he’d frame her boogers. Moo Yul has his own gift for her, some perfume, and Eun Jae asks if he got her a gift. He did. Beef, but not just any beef. Korean beef! Eun Jae isn’t quite as easily pleased, but she’s not a velociraptor so it’s be expected. Things wind down and the girls depart. Moo Yul escorts them. When Jong Hee gets off, Moo Yul notices that Eun Jae is acting odd and like a good friend reaches out to joke with her and mess up her hair. He stops when he remembers her expression as she confesses and takes his hand back a bit shaken. He watches her as she hails a cab. He starts to ask if she meant it, but can’t get the words out. Instead he opens the door and watches her drive away.Eun Jae comes home where her family is greedily eyeing her meat. She let’s them have it. She asks her brother about her father’s confession. She is happy that at least one of them had success.Moo Yul can’t sleep that night as he replays Eun Jae’s words and remembers her fervent expression. Jong Hee plays with her creepy cat. She finds the letter, but discards it without taking a second glance. Moo Yul, worn from a restless night and still thinking of Eun Jae, has a horrible practice. How will he get out of this mental funk? A double date with Jong Hee, Dong Soo, and Soo Young. This may clear his mental funk, but the fifth wheel, Eun Jae, gets her own as she watches the happy couples. She wishes this was the good old days in Japan, where she was mistaken for Moo Yul’s wife as she now sees Moo Yul playfully interact with his first love. The night is fun for all, well not for Eun Jae who finds out that Jong Hee addresses those she likes informally, right before Jong addresses Eun Jae politely. Hehe. Your crush’s crush just dissed you. Soo Young also gets upset when Jong Hee announces that she has given up art. Jong Hee was a very talented art prodigy who stole the attention of Soo Young’s mother despite having little training. Soo Young tells Dong Soo that she’s happy she married him and could escape all the pressure her mom placed on her to become an artist.Dong Ah spies on Pretty Boy Waiter and steals girls’ phone numbers thinking they are secret notes from the stalker. In front of Tae Han she wonders how he has so many admirers. When Tae Han drops her off she gives him a New Year’s card. She mentions that he may want to keep the bikini shot on his desk. Apparently each year she tries to seems more erotic, but the bikini shot is from when she was a child. One of the baseball players asks Moo Yul if Eun Jae has a boyfriend. Moo Yul is shocked that he could be interested in her, but the player loves her laugh. Moo Yul agrees to ask her about him, but when he finds her she is practicing her laugh, trying to become more like Jong Hee. Moo Yul hides and watches her with a gentle smile, as she end does a little dance. When he hears someone else coming he calls her, not wanting anyone else to see her cuteness. Moo Yul mocks Eun Jae for her little dance when they get back home. They are interrupted by Jong Hee again. She’s brought alcohol this time. Eun Jae is hesitant to leave, even hanging outside Moo Yul’s door to eavesdrop, but she is driven away. She is left to imagine what will happen when alcohol, Jong Hee, and Moo Yul mix.Eun Jae is still haunted the next day. Things only get worse when she notices that Jong Hee has regained her couple ring. She says nothing, but her heart is being crushed. Moo Yul notices, but says nothing as he’s distracted by Jong Hee. Moo Yul and Jong Hee visit a mural she painted long ago. They left their handprints and a message declaring something to the extent that they were born to be together.Moo Yul drops Dong Hee off while he heads to practice. Eun Jae moves from the backseat back to the front seat. He nervously notes her gloom expression, afraid she is sick. Eun Jae says she hurt all over, so much so that she fears she will die from it.Jong Hee wistfully looks in at an art shop. Soo Young meets with her mother, who has found out about Jong Hee’s return and asks to meet her. Soo Young makes no promises and snaps at her mother a bit for loving art more than her daughter.Eun Jae knows that she has been compromised. She can’t perform her duties well anymore. She calls her boss, who is in the middle of office hunting, and asks to meet him later. Moo Yul and Eun Jae head home. She checks his apartment quickly before quietly leaving as though she will never see him again. As she heads to the elevator she wipes the tears she can no longer control.
